I am delighted to provide this short Foreword to accompany Steven Coren’s excellent resource “Click on Coren on Isle of Man Civil Procedure”.
I have had the opportunity to review “Click” and it is obvious that it will become an essential tool for any lawyer or layperson who is conducting, or who has an interest in, civil litigation in the Isle of Man.
There has until now been a dearth of available research tools in this area. Until now legal research in this area has been largely confined to the excellent Manx Law Reports, published by Butterworths LexisNexis, and the on-line reports of judgments available free of charge on courts.im.
Civil litigation is becoming more complex and the stakes are often very high. Anything which helps the parties to assist the court in arriving at the just result speedily and at minimum cost is to be welcomed. I consider that “Click” will undoubtedly help in this regard.
Steven Coren is to be heartily congratulated on all the work which he has done to bring to fruition this superb (and free!) on-line resource.
